Happy Dragon Year! Today is Chinese new year eve. What is your resolution for this coming lunar new year?

pic : One Utama Shopping Mall during Chinese New year (from Galaxy Note)

I wish all Chinese to have better Health, Better wealth ! May your dreams come true…hehehe..

Do you receive new year hampers from your relatives or your daughter boyfriend etc?

Or getting big hamper from your company annual dinner lucky draw?

Do you eat a lot of LUKAM (Chinese mandarin orange from china) and leaving your a lot of empty boxes after the big festival?

Do you enjoy a lot of Coca cola,100 plus and beers and leaving a lot of empty tins in your kitchen?

Ya..it is very common to see big heap of garbage in front of our house after Chinese new year.

Do you know that more than 40% of our household waste can be reused and recycled instead of filling up our landfill?

Please don’t forget to recycle your empty cardbox from LUKAM boxes, new year cookies card boxes, mushroom packing boxes and send it to recycle center instead of waiting garbage collectors.

Besides you are getting RM0.30-0.40 per kg cardboard, RM3 perkg for aluminum canned from your garbage sale, you are helping our beloved environment.

• Reduce spaces in landfill

• Reduce the energy used to produce new tins, cardboard etc.

• Save more trees from cutting down to produce papers.

• Less pollution problem in water catchment (unable to get suitable location landfill).

• Save better environment for our future generation!

Solar-powered hypermart

THE RM70 mil new Tesco hypermarket in Kulim, Kedah, features a solar power system capable of reducing carbon emissions of more than three tonnes per year to the environment.Tesco Stores Malaysia chief operating officer Tim Golding said in a press release that the grid connected  solar photovoltaic system generated some 45,600kW of electricity per year.

“This is our first solar-powered hypermarket, which is also the 39th Tesco store in Malaysia. The system cost about RM400,000 to install and can support the power needs of six medium-sized households for an entire year.
“The generation of 45,600kW of electricity translates into a reduction of more than three tonnes of carbon emissions per year,” he said.

Golding said the installation of the solar system in Tesco Kulim was the result of Tesco’s participation in the Suria 1000 Programme, a scheme under the Federal Government’s Malaysia Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) project to encourage and support building owners in the generating of their own electricity from solar energy.

“Tesco will continue to up the ante in building environmentally-friendly stores. The energy-saving innovation is focused on lighting, water consumption, air-conditioning, refrigeration and architecture design,” he said.

“It is a natural evolution for us to adopt solar energy in our stores and we are pleased that our brand-new Tesco Kulim will be an important model for our stores in Malaysia. “We have been steadfast in our aim to mobilise the collective strength of our customers, suppliers and stakeholders to help protect the environment and combat climate change, but we believe that the best way to achieve this is to lead by example.”

On the company’s expansion in Kedah, Golding said Tesco was happy to be in Kulim. “As a result of the overall national growth and prosperity, the state, including this town, holds much potential for retailers like Tesco. “The opening of our hypermarket in Kulim has created over 400 job opportunities for the local Community,” he added.

Tesco Kulim is built at a cost of close to RM70 million and has a sales floor area of 6,200sq m and a mall area of about 8,500sq m.

“The hypermarket also has more than 800 parking bays for the convenience of its shoppers,”Golding said.
As part of its commitment to the environment, Tesco Malaysia has earlier introduced a range of alternative carrier bags for customers.

“Customers are also rewarded with Tesco Green Clubcard points each time they use their own bags or the Tesco reusable bags available at all Tesco stores.“Our first recycling centre at Tesco Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, was launched in May 2008. Tesco Malaysia today has recycling centres at 12 of its stores,” added Golding.

Most likely this due to we have forgotten to swicth off  the car head lamp for a night and let the battery completely drained off.

What we should do if our Toyota Prius need to jump start  in case of battery flat?

Jump Start Toyota Prius might be a very challenging task!!

Once  you open up the engine front casing Toyota Prius, you are in puzzle to find the position of the battery terminal (+) and   (-).

If we compare to our normal car such as proton wira etc, we can recognize battery pack and terminal easily.

To solve this problem, reading habit is very importance now.Search for the owner's manual and follow the instruction in the check list.

Tips to share.
Tip 1:

Always keep your Toyota Prius Owner's  Manual in your car for your emergency purpose. It's really helps driver to understand and trouble shoot Toyota Prius car in case of malfunctions.
Tip 2:
                                        picture 2

Read the manual carefully to find out the correct position for battery terminal. It may take you half hour  up to one hour to find out the terminals or may be days if you don't have proper equipment and manual with you!

Tip 3

                                                     Picture 3

Please use multimeter or voltmeter to confirm the battery terminal(+) and (-). Refer to the above picture (picture 3), the right hand side is (+) terminal and the remain voltage in the battery is 5Vdc. Too bad. The 12V battery is completed drain off and only remain 5V.No wonder it unable to start the car.

Tip 4
